On February 5, the CUNARD liner Queen Elizabeth (2) will make its first ever port stop in Long Beach harbor, berthing adjacent to the Queen Mary as part of a celebratory event launching a new ship model gallery aboard the Queen Mary. The original Queen Elizabeth was the sister ship to Queen Mary. The QE2 will transport a model of its namesake to Long Beach, for later installation in the new Queen Mary new model gallery. The Queen Elizabeth 2 Captain will join in the model gallery dedication along with the Mayor and other dignitaries. Queen Mary will also be hosting a three-day Maritime Industry Business Summit, ending Feb 5. Summit attendees will join the VIP dedication.
