While the Academy and MARAD await the FY 2025 Budget to be adopted and start to work on the FY 2026 budget, what is being done to address the aging living quarters for the midshipmen at the USMMA? There are daily ongoing issues with mold, inadequate air conditioning systems and hot water availability. It is reported that the on-line work order system implemented just over a year ago that promised a 10-day response time after a work order was entered has failed and now a new work order system is being tried. What is MARAD doing to address these deficiencies?

‘‘Ask the Administrator’ is a Maritime TV series of pre-recorded interviews which originated during the tenure of Maritime Administrator Paul "Chip" Jaenichen in 2014 at various locations around the country and Washington D.C. The goal was to create a forum for communication with the industry-at- large. On November 20, 2017, Maritime TV recorded the first ‘Ask the Administrator’ interview with the Maritime Administrator who succeeded Mr. Jaenichen, Rear Admiral Mark H. "Buz" Buzby, USN, Ret. On February 22, 2023, Maritime TV recorded the first ‘Ask the Administrator’ interview with the Maritime Administrator who succeeded RADM Buzby, Rear Admiral Ann C. Phillips, US Navy (Ret.)
